These kids worked so hard to make these gorgeous glass mosaics based on the fable The Lion and the Mouse. They were second graders at Louisville Elementary School in Louisville, Ohio. The project was sponsored by Arts in Stark as part of their wonderful education and arts integration program. The designs were based on drawings the kids created after reading the story and the final 3’ x 5’ mosaics were permanently mounted in the school’s third grade learning center for them to enjoy the next year.
It was a challenge for these tiny little hands to work with pieces of Stained glass, Van Gogh glass, glass gems, and millefiori, most of which were smaller than a centimeter. They did such a good job of listening and working together and were deservingly proud of their accomplishments!
